Get more from Dockwa - one update at a time
The season is underway. And based on everything we're seeing in our platform data, it's going to be a strong one — even in a year when diesel crossed five dollars a gallon.
Here's what's new, what's coming, and what's worth doing before the busiest weeks of the summer.
Keeping Your Fuel Dock Competitive This Season
Diesel hit $5.64 a gallon this spring — up 57% from a year ago. Boaters know it. They're checking prices before they leave the dock, calculating range, and deciding where to stop. The good news: participation is holding. The boats are in the water. The question isn't whether they'll go out — it's whether they'll pull up to your dock.
We wrote up a full breakdown of where fuel prices stand, what's driving them, and what operators can do right now: transparent pricing, loyalty discounts, promotional pump days, and how Dockwa Deals puts your marina in front of boaters actively filtering for value.
Peak Season Is Here — 5 Things to Confirm Right Now
Memorial Day weekend is the traditional starting gun for transient traffic across most of the country. As the season continues to ramp up, it's worth taking one afternoon to make sure your marina is set up to capture that demand.
We've put together a short checklist: profile completeness, active deals, pricing rules, automated communications, and staff readiness. Five items. One afternoon.
ICYMI: Trip Protection Is Live
After months in development, Trip Protection launched on Dockwa. Here's what it means for your marina: when a boater opts in to trip protection and cancels for a covered reason — illness, weather, a mechanical breakdown — your marina is protected. You don't lose the revenue on that slip. The boater gets coverage. The provider handles the claim.
It's one of the more meaningful changes to how reservation risk works on our platform, and it's live now for boaters across the network.
More Ways to Get in Front of Boaters This Season
Getting your marina in front of more boaters doesn't have to be complicated. Tag Dockwa when you post on social — our team reposts marina content to boaters across the network. Run an active Dockwa Deal to show up at the top of filtered search results and get considered for a feature in Dock Talk, our weekly boater newsletter.
Keep your profile current — amenities, services, photos — so you're ready when our editorial team is looking for marinas that fit a theme. And if you've got something to say, an approved blog contribution can earn you a spot in The Running Fix.
Coming Soon: Multi-Factor Authentication
We're rolling out optional multi-factor authentication (MFA) for Dockwa accounts this summer. MFA adds a second verification step at login — a text or authenticator app code — to protect your marina's account against unauthorized access.
No action required right now. You'll hear more from us as we get closer to the rollout, with clear instructions for your team.
Reminder: Service is Coming to Dockwa
We've been building something new this year: a native service management module inside Dockwa. Work orders. Service requests. Customer communication. Billing — all running on the same platform where you manage your reservations and your fuel dock.
We're still in development, and we're being intentional about the rollout. But if you want to be among the first to hear about launch plans, you can get on the list now.
