At Dockwa, we’ve always believed that great food and drink are essential ingredients for a great day on the water. That belief is what sparked The Galley Club. But before we get cooking, we want to introduce the incredible duo behind the recipes (and take a moment to brag about one of our own). So, without further ado, meet Max and Theresa Robbins (seen below with the Thomas Keller 🔥).
The two met back in 2009 at the Culinary Institute of America, and from that moment on, they’ve been cooking, creating, and adventuring together. Over the last decade, they’ve earned their stripes (and stars) in some of the most celebrated kitchens in the country. As Chef, Max led The Broadmoor’s Penrose Room to it's highest ever score as a five-star restaurant. Then, working alongside Max, who was stationed in the kitchen, Theresa became a certified sommelier at The French Laundry and was part of the team at Eleven Madison Park as it earned its third Michelin star.
Together, they’ve brought unforgettable dining experiences to life from Napa to New York City, most recently at Hudson Yards, where Max was the private dining chef at WS Club and Theresa led the floor at WS Tavern with grace and style.
Flash forward to today, and Max and Theresa are here to bring that same passion and creativity to the water. And lucky for us, they’re doing it right here at Dockwa.
Follow @thegalleyclub on Instagram for behind-the-scenes clips, recipe reels, and a few more salty surprises.
Along with his impressive culinary background, Max is a member of our engineering team - the brains behind some of the Dockwa features you know and love - and we couldn’t be prouder (or more excited) to showcase his and Theresa’s culinary talents through The Galley Club.
This series is about more than recipes. It’s about making boat life a little more fun, and a whole lot more delicious. So, whether you’re cooking on a weekend cruiser, living aboard full-time, or just trying to impress your boat friends the next time they say “no need to bring anything,” Max and Theresa are here to prove that even the smallest galley can deliver big flavor.
They’re kicking things off with a look at the foundation of any good setup: the bar. From there, we’ll follow into boat-friendly bites, fresh meals designed for small spaces, regional culinary staples, and clever galley hacks that might just save you from canned chili... again.
We can’t wait to share it all with you.
Let’s get cooking!
