Welcome to the month of l-o-v-e. That's right, it's officially February, boaters! With the start of a new month, it brings us one more closer to summertime.
With Valentine's Day two weeks away, the entire month of February is fair game when it comes to going the extra nautical mile to show the ones you love how much you care. Prep a romantic float plan or special day by the water with our handy list of harborside events.
Since we know how much each of you love boating, we put together a list of harborside events to explore this month. Find a boat show, nautical game night, beach cleanup, regatta, or winter festival near you.
Fall River – February 18 - 23: World War II & Nautical Gaming Week is being hosted by Battleship Cove. Come enjoy a week-long gaming fest full of popular nautical and WWII games on the very ships that inspired them including Battleship!, Call of Duty: WWII, and World of Warships.
February 12 - 18: Learn to Sail Live-Aboard Adventure. This 7-day trip begins and ends at Stock Island Marina Village and is a combination of Basic Keelboat Sailing, Basic Coastal Cruising, and Bareboat Cruising.
February 6 - 9: 3rd Annual Sea Spray Abaco Challenge (SSAC) is taking place at Sea Spray Marina. It is a laid back, casual affair geared towards friends, families, and those who want to fish competitively.
February 9: Junkanoo Celebrations: North Andros is a community-based Junkanoo parade that blends the traditional music and dance of Junkanoo with local variants, making for unique entertainment.
February 13 - 27: The George Town Cruising Regatta is a 14 day event in which the community will be able to enjoy two days of sailing, as well as days of onshore activities such as conch-shell blowing contests, and a softball competition.
February 14: Valentine Boat Cruise at Government Dock in Bullock's Harbour. The Caribbean Dreams boat will leave from the dock for cruisers to enjoy a romantic dinner on the water.
February 16: Annual Reef Ball: Marsh Harbour. A ceremony recognizing individuals who have played a significant role in the protection and sustainability of their environment.
February 20 - 24: Salina Point Homecoming Celebration is a reunion for former residents of Salina Point, Acklins and features four days of daytime and nighttime activities, beginning with a Float Parade.
February 21 - 23: Basketball Jamboree. High schools from throughout the Bahamas family of islands will come to compete.
February 21: The Great Harbour Cay 10th Annual Wahoo Invitational Fishing Tournament. Come enjoy a no-rules tournament that attracts up to 40 boats from Florida and Georgia, with a number of talented fisherman who are ready to compete.
February 22: The Rum Cay Day Festival is an all-day festival featuring cultural entertainment, Rake and Scrape bands, family-fun and games, and local food.
