We noticed some bulky updates that had been copied and pasted from government websites – these are hectic times, and we understand the tendency to want to copy and paste information from state or government officials to communicate your limitations. We would ask, however, that you post the information that pertains to your long-term marina guests and potential transient boaters, including information specific to your operations that will help boaters update their expectations and/or floatplans.

Here are some tips, courtesy of Marinas.com:

What to relay to boaters in your hurricane-related update:

  • What facilities/services that your marina typically offers are OPEN?

  • What facilities/services that your marina typically offers are LIMITED?

  • What facilities/services that your marina typically offers are CLOSED?

  • If your docks or surrounding area have incurred physical damage, to what extent?

  • When do you currently anticipate reopening?

  • What are the policies related to customers accessing your facility?

  • How should customers contact you for more information?

What to relay to boaters in your Covid-19 update:

  • If your status is Partially Closed, which facilities, amenities, or operating hours does this impact?

  • What services will customers have access to?

  • What can customers expect when arriving at the dock?

  • What are your social distancing guidelines?

  • When do you currently anticipate reopening?

  • Do you have an advisory posted on your website? Add a link.

  • How should customers contact you for more information?
