Make the most out of the last official month of summer: soak in the sun with family and friends, plot a course for somewhere new, and make some Summer of 2018 memories.
Happy August, boaters! Several of you wrote in to let us know how much you like these events-focused blog posts, and to ask if we could post them a bit earlier the month before. We're more than happy to oblige!

August 2, 9, 16, 23, and 30: Summer Sunsets at the Point take place at Thompson's Point on Thursday evenings from 4 PM to sunset. This 21+ event offers guests food trucks, beer, wine, cocktails and lawn games.
August 18: Craft Brew Races in Edward Payson Park. Join in for a relaxed 5K (or walk) around beautiful Back Cove followed by a beer festival with samples of over 40+ local and regional breweries.
August 10-12: The 16th Annual Maine Boat & Home Show is taking place. Each year they gather Maine's finest artists, architects, boat-builders, craftsmen, designers, furniture makers, jewelers, and marine gear vendors together in one place at one time.
Hubbard Park – August 19: Parkapalooza is a free summer concert series. In addition to great music, there will be a giant slip 'n slide and a community barbecue to grill your own picnic!
Ludlow –The Jackson Gore Summer Music Series takes place on Okemo Mountain Resort. Bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets and the family to enjoy live music and an outdoor BBQ every Friday night.

August 2, 9, 26, 23 and 30: Summervale 2018 is the Intervale Center celebration of farms, local food, family, and friends. Admission for this event is free!
August 4: Stand Up for the Lake is Vermont's only WPA-sanctioned paddleboarding event held by the Community Sailing Center. Join the fun as a participant in the 3-mile race or the 6-mile race!
August 8 & 22: Leddy Park Beach Bites. Spend an evening by the lake, enjoying the sunset and beach with dinner, drinks, live entertainment and kids activities.
August 12, 19, and 26: Yoga Afloat combines two sports into one: paddleboard and yoga. This event is held at Lake Champlain Community Sailing Center throughout August.
August 7: Cruise for a Clean Oceanis hosted by Blue Ocean Society for Marine Conservation. The cruise is a summer favorite for locals and includes tropical tunes and dance music, apps and desserts, a silent auction, and a raffle. The cruise is open to 21+ only.
August 11: Celebrate Portsmouth's maritime tradition by taking part in the 8th annual Round Island Regatta. Launching from the Peirce Island Boat Ramp, racers will circle around Round Island.
August 25-26: The S.S. Gatsby docks in Portsmouth harbor. Go aboard for the Gatsby on the Isles, a 1920s bash on the high seas, featuring live music, lawn games, and a picnic on the Isles of Shoals.
NEW New Castle –
August 7 & 26: SUP Yoga Master Class at Portsmouth Paddle Co.
August 3-5: Boston Green-Fest. This free event offers a huge assortment of exhibits, performances, and presentations about sustainable living. Eco-Themes include water, energy, green cities, transportation, health, nutrition, and eco-fashion.
August 5-11: The Annual Boston Seafood Festival. Celebrating Boston's marine heritage, love of seafood, and commitment to sustainable harvest, this family-friendly event brings together seafood tastings, chef demos, educational events, an all day lobster bake, Battle of the Shuckers, a fish cutting contest, Harpoon Garden, and the traditional Blessing of the Fleet.
August 9: Summer Dock Party hosted by Community Boating Inc. Boston. Join in for a night of dancing, mingling, and watching the sunset over the Charles!
August 12: Open Newbury Street is here! This event is a car-free Newbury Street where the street will be closed to cars so pedestrians can roam freely along the iconic stretch in Back Bay.
August 16-19: Fisherman's Feast of the Madonna del Soccorso di Sciacca. This event also includes a Blessing of the Fishing Waters at Christopher Columbus Park.
August 25: The Boston Beach Run is a fun end of the summer beach run around Carson Beach in South Boston. Following the run will be a picnic.
August 3 and 10: The Summer Sound Series is a live music series happening in New Bedford's Seaport Cultural District.
August 24: End of the Summer Movie Night from 7:30-9:30 PM at Custom House Square. Come see the Pixar classic "The Incredibles" at 7:30 PM followed by the 2018 Marvel hit "Black Panther" at 9:30 PM
August 26: Reggae on West Beach. Reggae on West Beach is a 3-Part Summer Series featuring DJs spinning the best reggae styles of rocksteady, roots, ska, and dancehall.
Provincetown – August 9 and 13: The 14 annual P'town Jazz Festival with Cassandre McKinley and Jason Palmer at The Crown & Anchor. On August 13th, the Jazz Festival moves to its Cotuit venue, showcasing the Tim Ray Trio and Daryl Sherman.
Fall River – August 11: The 12th Annual Poker Run at Borden Light Marina.
August 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29: Movies Under the Stars. At Peg Noonan Park, the Falmouth Village Association & The Black Dog are hosting movies on Wednesday nights. Be sure to bring blankets and chairs to enjoy a free, family friendly film!
August 19: Running Falmouth for Fish and Fisherman. This year the Fishermen's Alliance was awarded 7 bibs in the 2018 New Balance Falmouth Road Race. Join in and watch them run the iconic 7-mile seaside course!
NEW Wellfleet –Wellfleet Porchfest 2018. The 4th Annual Porchfest is a self-guided stroll featuring unplugged, acoustic live music played on porches and on lawns throughout Wellfleet.
NEW Nantucket –
August 1-4: Service Dog Week. Dog heroes and their families have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of Nantucket activities while enjoying an all-inclusive, much-needed vacation!
August 11-20: Nantucket Race Week is a 9 day experience that brings the entire Nantucket community together for a fun-filled week of regattas, award ceremonies, and parties. Check out the full race week schedule of events!
August 14: Oyster Farm & Harbor Tour. Join in with the Nantucket Land Council for an exciting and educational afternoon aboard Shearwater Excursions Shearwater 47' power catamaran for a tour of Head of the Harbor and an exploration of Fifth Bend Oyster Farm.
August 19: Nantucket Opera House Cup. Every year during the third weekend of August, the island of Nantucket hosts the Opera House Cup, the third leg of the North American Circuit of the Panerai Classic Yachts Challenge. The Opera House Cup takes its name form the eponymous venue whose owner, in 1973, had the idea of organizing a regatta for wooden sailboats. This is the oldest regatta of this kind to take place along the East Coast of the United States.
August 25: Nantucket Island Open Water Swim. Swimmers of all ages and skill levels are invited to take part in the annual swim at Jetties Beach to help support cancer treatment and patient care on Nantucket Island.
NEW Onset – August 11: The Onset Capeverdean Festival. This is the annual Capeverdean Independence Celebration. Enjoy food, music, dancing, poetry and lots of awesome vendors.
NEW Newport –
August 2, 9, 16, 23 and 31: NewportFILM Outdoors. NewportFILM is a year-round, non-profit documentary film series that features established and emerging filmmakers and their current documentary films, curated from film festivals around the world. Here are the movies that are playing & their locations:
August 3-5: The 2018 Newport Jazz Festival. The festival features three full days of jazz on four unique stages on the ground at Fort Adams situated at the mouth of Newport Harbor with panoramic views of the Newport Bridge.
August 5: Boats & Bowtiesis The Confetti Foundation 3rd annual fundraiser to celebrate their mission of supplying birthday parties to hospitalized children nationwide. This is a 21+ event being held at the Newport Shipyard.
Movies on the Rocks is a summer movie series taking place during the month of August at Ballard Park. All movies start at 8 PM but it is suggested that you arrive 15 minutes prior to the start. Here is the list of movies that will be shown:

August 10: The Boys & Girls Club of Newport County proudly presents the 5th annual Newport Yacht Rendezvous. Join for an evening of dinner and dancing while exploring Newport's finest super yachts on historic Narragansett Bay.

August 17-19: Weekend of Coaching is a colorful tradition that evokes the spirit of an era. Members of the Coaching Club from around the country will bring their historic coaches and their teams of trained carriage horses to Newport, to display the art and sport of coaching.
August 25: IYRS Cocktail Party is in celebration of the third day of the Narragansett Bay Classic Yacht Rendezvous and the Paneral Newport Classic Yacht Regatta kick off. Featuring cocktails and camaraderie along with the Honky Tonk Knights to keep the party going!
August 29: Newport Vineyards Great White, White Party. Join in to celebrate 20 years of Newport Vineyards Great White wine and the last days of summer. Don't forget to wear your summer white attire!
August 7, 14, 21 and 28: Sweet Berry Farm Summer Concert and Dinner Series is taking place every Tuesday night featuring a dinner menu and live music. Be sure to bring a lawn chair or blanket.
August 2: Gather the whole family for a fun mid-summer beach party on Third Beach hosted by the Norman Bird Sanctuary. Pack your own beach picnic or enjoy food trucks on the beach. Complimentary beer, wine, lemonade and iced tea will be served along with Ben & Jerry's ice cream and s'mores by the campfire.
August 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29: Fireside Wednesdays Music Series is presented by Newport Vineyards alongside extended tasting room hours throughout the summer. Enjoy live music near the fire pits from 5-8 PM while overlooking the vines.
August 18: Middletown 275th Anniversary. Activities will be taking place at both Paradise Park & Second Beach.
August 4, 11, 18 and 25: As part of the 27th season of the Newport International Polo Series, every Saturday through September, you can find a match going on! Polo starts at 5 PM and tickets are $12 for general admission. Visit Newport Polo for more information.
August 4: A traditional New England Lobster Bake will round out the gala weekend at the conclusion of The USA vs. Morocco. The freshest local seafood & produce will be cooked to perfection field-side from 7:30-8:30 PM.

August 27: Trek to the Turbines. A three hour ferryboat tour of the Block Island Wind Farm - the only U.S. offshore wind farm.

August 5: Cool Jazz at Mount Hope Farm from 4-8 PM. Cool Jazz offers a raw bar, clam cakes, chowder, lobster & steak, and of course spectacular views of Mount Hope Bay!
August 11: Mount Hope Bridge 5K starting at 7:30 AM. This event gives runners and walkers the unique opportunity of crossing Mt. Hope Bay by foot on the historic Mt. Hope Bridge.
August 23 - 26: The Narragansett Bay Classic Yacht Rendezvous. On the 23, the Yacht Rendezvous kicks off with an exciting distance race from Newport to Bristol followed by a reception and Living Boat Show at the Herreshoff Marine Museum which will be open to the public.
NEW Mystic –
August 3: Safe Harbor Rendezvous: Mystic Seaport. From exclusive museum tours, live music, wine tastings and more, each Safe Harbor Rendezvous promises to satisfy with something for everyone!
August 7: The 22nd annual Summer Sounds concert series at Mystic River Park. The concerts feature a local community music group which will be Andy Sherwood for this concert.
August 11-12: The 61st Annual Mystic Outdoor Art Festival 2018. This is the oldest festival of its kind in the Northeast and attracts 100,000 people from New England and other areas of the country.
August 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30: Sheffield Island Lighthouse Clambake takes place. It is a round trip boat ride to Sheffield Island with panoramic views of the Long Island Sound. The evening allows for participants to dine in the festive pavilion on the lighthouse lawn, with tours of the lighthouse itself included in the cost.
August 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31: Norwalk Islands Sunset Cruise. Guests board the Seaport Association's 45-foot C.J. Toth catamaran for a relaxing two hour cruise through Norwalk Harbor and Long Island Sound.
August 25: Food Truck Festival at New London Waterfront Park. Choose your favorite food truck, grab an order, and listen to music at two piers! Enjoy live music at City Pier stage or a DJ at the Custom House Pier.
Amityville – August 1, 8, 15, 22 and 29: Sunset Kayak Tours every Wednesday at the Dinghy Shop on the Great South Bay.
New York City, New York –
Summer on the Hudson is a Parks Department festival that takes place up and down Riverside Park throughout the summer. The celebration includes concerts, dance performances, wellness activities, movies and kids' shows.
August 4, 11 and 18: Summer Streets 2018 is an event in which Park Ave will be car-free from the Brooklyn Bridge to Central Park.
August 1-17: NYC Restaurant Week. Get a special deal on a 3-course lunch or dinner at over 200 participating restaurants.
August 1-31: Harlem Week is a month-long celebration of local culture and history that includes performances, tributes, films, fashion, a children's festival, sport events, films, and a 5K. Most of the events are free.
August 10 and 24: Intrepid Museum's Summer Movie Series. Enjoy views of the Hudson River and city skyline while you watch some old and new favorites on the big screen. The flight deck open at 7 with movie beginning at sunset!

August 27- September 9: The U.S. Tennis Open 2018 is taking place at Flushing Meadows - Corona Park. While Wimbledon has its white, New Yorkers bring the party to the National Tennis Center with a celebrity-studded crowd, international food vendors and live musicians performing on the grounds!
August 25-26: The Jazz Age Lawn Party at Colonel's Row on Governors Island. The Jazz Age Lawn Party is a 1920s-themed party where attendees are encouraged to wear period dress, try classic cocktails and dance along to live jazz!
August 31-September 2: Electric Zoo is taking place at Randall's Island Park. Check out the awesome line-up!
August 3, 10 and 24: Hudson River Park presents free musical entertainment on the waterfront at Pier 45. Bring your friends and a blanket and listen to free concerts as the sun sets on the Hudson.
Asbury Park – August 18: The 5th annual Asbury Park Surf Music Festival at The Anchor's Bend. This is the USA's #1 Surf Music Event. There will be live music, beverages, food, and more.
Point Pleasant – August 18: The 3rd Annual Devils Beach Bash is taking place at Jenkinson's At The Inlet.
Newark – August 25: The Riverfront Food Truck Festival is taking place at the Newark Riverfront Park from 12-6 PM. Food Trucks will be offering classics featuring food options from Latin, Caribbean, American, BBQ, Italian, etc.
August 18: The Cardboard Boat Regattareturns to Bayfront Maritime Center. Boats are built using only cardboard, tape, paint and glue. They compete in races, two by two, and vie for the Fastest Time trophy in 4 divisions.
August 25: ArborEAT'em - A Birthday Party in the Park. This event is a birthday party for adults with balloons, party games, face painting, etc.
August 3-5: the EQT Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta is back. The annual festival will include 3 fun-filled days of powerboat races, national music acts, free family activities and familiar fan favorites.
August 1, 8 and 15: Wild CRAB Chase is a recurring event throughout the summer hosted by Delaware Seashore State Park. This is a free program at Fenwick Island State Park where they will be sending you out on a wild crab chase. Join a park naturalist on the beach at night to seek out the elusive, nocturnal ghost crab!
August 1: Fenwick First Fridays give you your chance to explore Fenwick Island - without the summer crowds!
Auguat 1, 8, 15 and 22: Paint Night: Nautical Flag Art is an event at the Big Chill Beach Club. Learn about the history of the International Code of Signals and paint your own message in nautical flags on a piece of rustic, reclaimed wood from park picnic tables and beach boardwalks.
August 2, 9 and 16: Shark Discovery. With this event, research like a marine biologist and understand why sharks are a vital piece of our oceans ecosystem.
NEW Annapolis –
August 1, 8, 15, 22 and 19: Wednesday NightSailboat Races. Watch over 150 crews compete in midweek races that involve sailing around several marks in the Bay before heading back to Spa Creek for a finish in front of the Annapolis Yacht Club.
August 3: The 73rd Annual Annapolis Rotary Crab Feast. This is the world's largest crab feast & an all-you-can-eat crab feast! This event is taking place at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
August 2, 9,16 and 23: Annapolis Tides & Tunes. Concerts take place at the Annapolis Maritime Museum's waterfront McNasby campus and they are free. Here is a list of the August concerts:
August 17: Reggae on the Bay 2018. Hop aboard the Harbor Queen for a three hour booze cruise around the Chesapeake Bay with live music. This is an event for all ages!
August 18: The Crab Cup. The Crab Cup party is one of the larges in Annapolis taking place at Eastport Yacht Club.
August 19: The 3rd Annual White Perch Open. Taking place at Podickory Point Yacht Club.
Yorktown – August 2: The Sounds of Summer Concert Series is taking place on August 2 from 7-9:30PM. Join at the Riverwalk Landing for free outdoor concerts by the river! The band will be En'Novation on August 2nd.
Betterton – August 4: Betterton Day is happening at Betterton Beach. There will be a parade starting at 10 AM along with vendors, music, cow plop bingo, etc.
Ocean City – August 6-10: The White Marlin Open is a 45-year-old offshore fishing tournament held annually in Ocean City. The tournament awards prize money for catches of white marlin, blue marlin, tuna, wahoo, dolphin, and shark.
National Harbor – August 4: Washington D.C. Water Lantern Festival. At this water lantern festival, experience the magic of the floating lanterns as the soft glow reflects on the water. A family-friendly event which includes food trucks, live music, and a lantern launch.
August 11-12: Leo Wardrup Memorial Cape Charles Cup Sailing Regatta. This is a two-day sailing Regatta between Norfolk to Cape Charles typically with 85 to 95 large sailboats and over 450 Southern Bay Sailors participating.
August 9, 16 and 23: Neptune Festival's Symphony by the Sea Concert Series is back for its 7th year. All concerts are free to attend.
August 24-25: The 36th Annual Norfolk Waterfront Jazz Festival. The Jazz Fest will be held at Town Point Park as the area's longest running outdoor Jazz Festival.
August 16: Sunset Kayaking at the Norfolk Botanical Garden is a guided kayak tour. Enjoy a relaxing paddle with experienced guides exploring the world of plants & animals that inhabit the shores and waters of Lake Whitehurst.
Brevard – August 1-18: The Brevard Music Summer 2018 Festival is remarkable concert series with music ranging from symphony, opera, and pops to rock, jazz and bluegrass.
August 8: Lighthouse 5K. Add the fun of a run and fitness to your vacation by completing this fun summer morning 5k run/walk through the Historic Village of Corolla Light.
August 7, 14, 21 and 28: Crabbing at Corolla Light Resort is open to the public. Catch and release some blue crabs and even bring your own bucket to keep some!
Surf City – August 2: The Topsail Turtle BLAST is a family friendly event happening at Surf City Soundside Park. There will be kids activities, a DJ, and food.
NEW Wilmington –
August 4: Pipeline to a Cure. This Event was founded to celebrate the positive connection between the ocean and cystic fibrosis.
August 10: Bark in the Park - During the dog days of summer why not bring your companion out to the ballpark for a bit of America's pastime? Myrtle Beach Pelicans vs. Wilmington Blue Rocks is taking place at Myrtle Beach Pelicans Park.
august 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30: The Sea Turtle Lifeevent explores the amazing journey of Loggerhead Sea Turtles from egg to adulthood. This is a family-friendly, hands-on, eye-opening indoor experience at the Coastal Discovery Museum.
Naples – August 1: The 6th Annual Castles for Kids children's sand sculpting contest! Enjoy fun in the sun, food, festivities, pirates, an appearance by Moana, raffles and more.
Cape Canaveral – August 3: Cape Canaveral Friday Fest. The fest includes a variety of food vendors, an assortment of novelty & craft vendors, a kids zone, live entertainment, and assortments of beer and wine.
Tampa – August 4: Vans Warped Tour is taking place at MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre. This is the last year Warped Tour will be running so don't miss out!
Saint Augustine – August 5, 12, 19 and 26: The Conch House hosts Reggae Sunday from 3-7 PM. Voted "best outdoor party in North Florida," it is an event you won't want to pass up! Click here to see the 2018 Live Music schedule.
Destin – August 4, 11, 18 and 25: Rock the Docks Live Concert is a free concert at the Destin Harbor. Concerts run from 7-9 PM.
Key West –
August 9: Lobster fest's Lobster Boilis a Lobster Boil on the roof of The Waterfront Brewery. Every guest will receive a lobster boil dinner with all the fixings.
August 11: Lobsterpalooza 2018. Get ready for the mini Lobster season with expert Captain Chuck Meier. Learn tips, tricks and local laws that are sure to help you catch some lobsters.
Key Largo –
August 25-27: The Coral Spawning Night Dive. Every year after the full moons of late summer, something exciting happens on the reefs of the Florida Keys - their living coral reef reproduces. The coral colonies, preparing to build reefs for the future, will release their gametes simultaneously in a spectacular underwater show.
August 2, 9, 16, 23 and 30: Start your day with Yoga & Dolphins. Join Island Dolphin Care for a free open level flow style yoga class.
August 1-5: Water Extreme Journey. An interactive maze including watersheds, hidden species, human impacts and themed interactive support messages of stewardship, conservation, and the importance of clean water in our daily lives.
August 25: Rubber Ducky Regatta 2018. Make a splash by dropping 10,000 rubber duckies into the Mobile River at Cooper Riverside Park.
Gulf Shores – August 2: Tacky Jacks Beach Games. Kid's ages 6-12 compete in relay races, challenges and brain teasers. All participants get a free lunch from Tacky Jacks and prizes!
August 18: 2018 Houston Food Fest. Enjoy food from over 70 different food vendors from Houston, Austin and other surrounding cities. There will be plenty of outdoor activities including live music.
South Padre Island –
August 1-5: TIFT - the Texas International Fishing Tournament. Surrounded by the sparkling waters of the Laguna Madre Bay and Gulf of Mexico, Port Isabel and South Padre Island play host to Texas' largest saltwater fishing tournament.
August 25: Fishing for Hope. This event is the largest non-profit fishing tournament on the Texas coast and is a family-friendly event.
Dumas– August 17-18: The 12th Annual Cowboy Classic Rodeo. This rodeo is held at the Moore Country Rodeo Arena.
Huntington Beach – August 1-5: Huntington Beach U.S. Open of Surfing. This annual surfing festival is a six-star World Qualifying Series competition in which surfers from around the globe come to Huntington Beach to compete.
Fontana – August 4-5: HARD Summer Music Festivalis taking place at Auto Club Speedway. This festival is dedicated to bringing the biggest names in the hip-hop and electronic scene. This years headlines include Marshmello, Travis Scott, and Virtual Self.
August 11: The 118th Iowa by the Sea Picnic at the Pacific Battleship Center. This event is a family-oriented, alcohol free picnic featuring a catered BBQ, entertainment, door prizes, a silent auction and tons of activities.
August 25: Light at the Lighthouse Music Festival is a free family fun event! This is South Bay's biggest music festival that is taking place at Pt. Fermin Park. Check out the 30 bands that are scheduled to play, food trucks, picnics, climbing wall, face painting and kids activities.
Los Angeles –
August 3: LA Waterfront Movie Night is taking place at either San Pedro or Wilmington. Family activities start at 6:30 PM with the movie starting at 8:10 PM. The scheduled movie for the San Pedro location is The Sandlot, while the movie for the Wilmington Waterfront Park location is Cars 3.

August 31- September 3: LA Fleet Week 2018. Fleet Week is an annual patriotic tradition where active military ships recently deployed in overseas operations dock in a major U.S. city for one week. LA Fleet Week is a free, public event on the LA Waterfront!
Beverly Hills – August 15: The Grease 40th Anniversary Screening is happening at Samuel Goldwyn Theatre. Unlike other celebratory showings, you will actually be joined in the audience by actors Travolta, Newton-John, Barry Pearl, Didi Conn and director Randal Kleiser.
Toledo – August 18-19: The 14th Annual Toledo Wooden Boat Show is held annually on the third weekend of August. This is a family-friendly weekend event to celebrate Toledo's boat building heritage. Featured events include Family Boat Building, Georgia Pacific's Container Board Boat Contest, Kids Toy Boat Building, Poker Paddle and boat rides, etc.
Westport – August 1-31:Westport Charter Boat Association Fishing Derby. Compete for daily and weekly cash prizes in the Sportfishing Capital of the World!
August 3 -Seafair Weekend Festival is a Pacific Northwest tradition since 1950. The seafair weekend is the most anticipated event of the summer happening at Genesee Park and Playfield.
August 9 -12 -Low Tide Beach Walkshosted by the Seattle Aquarium. This is a free drop-in program which takes place from 9-11 AM.
August 10 -South Lake Union Block Party 2018is a full day of community, food, art, music, and brews! The annual block party will host a lineup of bands, food trucks, community booths, lawn games, beer, and more.
August 23 -Aquarium After Hoursat the Seattle Aquarium. Enjoy all the Aquarium exhibits during this 21+ evening, which will feature a no-host bar, food available for purchase, and a photo booth.
August 25 -Kidchella Seattle is taking place at Magnuson Park Hangar 30. Tickets include performances, carnival games, bounce houses, face painting, arts & crafts, etc!
August 31-September 2 -Bumbershoot 2018. Bumbershoot is a three-day music festival happening at Seattle Center.

August 31: Jaws on the Water. Head over to Westin Lake Las Vegas and watch Jaws while floating on the water.
Salt Lake City – August 30: Wasatch Mountain Film Festival Rewind. If you missed the Wasatch Mountain Film Festival in April now is your chance to see all the award winners. The 2018 Rewind show will be at Brewvies Cinema Pub with plenty of prizes and outdoor giveaways.
Cottonwood – August 1-31: Classic Water to Winecombines a float trip down the Verde River with wine tasting at the Alcantara Vineyards. Tours at 10AM & 1PM everyday.
August 6: Sunrise Yoga Hike. This event incorporates hiking, yoga, and then hiking again!
August 11: 2nd Annual Summer Splash BBQ at Spring Meadow Lake State Park. All types of fun will be happening with yard games, the lake, a keg and lunch.
August 25: Lucky 13 Family Fun Ride. A 6.5 climb from York to Vigilante Trailhead and back for 13-miles round trip. This event is for all ages.
Dillon – August 3-5: The Dillon Yacht Club is hosting the 2018 Dillon Open Regatta. It is 9,017 ft above sea level. Racing will be held on beautiful Lake Dillon where you will enjoy sunny days and spectacular views of the snow-capped Rocky Mountains.
August 4: The 3rd Annual Denver International Festival. This is a free summer celebration of the best tradition food, music, art, beer and wine from Colorado and abroad taking place at Denver's Civic Center Park.
August 5: The Throw-down - a charity cornhole tournament. The Throw-down is taking place at Denver's Union Station.
August 24-25: Camp Shenanigans. This adult summer camp is an all-inclusive weekend with canoeing, archery, color wars, open bar, theme parties, etc!

August 17-18: The 17th annual Great Lakes Burning River Fest at the historic Coast Guard Station on Whiskey Island from 6-11 PM. Illuminated by the downtown skyline, the Great Lakes Burning River Fest returns to Cleveland's waterfront with three stages of music.

August 18-19: The Chicago Air and Water Show is taking place at North Beach with air and watercraft demonstrations. It is the largest and oldest free admission air and water exhibition in the U.S.

August 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 18, 19, 24, 25 and 26: Detroit Historical Canal Touris a recurring event that takes place at Maheras Gentry Park. Highlights of this tour include the Fisher Mansion, the friendly residents of Detroit's "Little Venice" and a view of Motor City's downtown.
August 12: The Belle Isle Blue Heron Lagoon Touris a beginner friendly tour on the East end of Belle Isle. Enjoy panoramic views of the Detroit Skyline and Lake St Clair, contrasted next to the nature of Belle Isle Park.
August 4: Lakeside Beer Garden. A European-style beer garden. Enjoy a gorgeous view of the lake, food, music in a lakeside park. All of the Beer Gardens will be sponsored by different, local civic organization. Each group will vary their beer selections, soft drinks, entertainment, and food.
Sherwood – August 18-19:Sherwood's 50th Anniversary Celebration. Both event days will include live music, festive balloons, an obstacle course, a dunk tank, and golf. Saturday night will include a fireworks show.
