My home port has been in mattapoisett for 6 years and I absolutely love the community and location.

MBY and the Kaisers are great! Highly recommended boatyard!

Perhaps the most hospitable group of folks I’ve ever encountered at a marina or boat yard. After a devastating fire that claimed nearly everything, they rose to the challenge and made everyone feel better and gave us hope.
Marina Response:
Thank you for the super kind words! It is customers like you who make doing this so worthwhile and rewarding!

Truly excellent and timely launch service. Staff is very accomodating. Protection from weather is good. Moorings are well-maintained. Parking is convenient. Easy to call and find out conditions when I'm not on the boat and the weather reports are threatening. Down one star because shore facilities are limited after the big fire in 2022. I don't blame them, there's a lot on their plate and they're moving as fast as they can. Already cleared the land and digging foundations for the new facilities. Next year I'll be back for another 3-week stay and I'm sure there'll be a lot of new and spanking clean rest rooms and showers and so forth. Looking forward to that. Best of luck to them. They work very hard.

Dave Kaiser was very responsive and helpful with our mooring request.

Large harbor with space between boats for privacy. Launch service very accommodating and showed us everything we needed. Town dock has bathrooms open 24 hours and pump out station. Little town was charming with an Inn that had good and filling food. Ice cream shop as well. Will definitely make this a regular stop on our way in and out of Buzzards Bay.

Marina Response:

Inexpensive and well protected. Good communication through dockwa app. Facilities are basic with outside shower. Launch service provided. Like everywhere else in New England launch will point out your mooring but otherwise stand by (i.e. not help you tie up). This seems to be market practice. Moorings looked very solid. Guest moorings are orange to port upon entering
Marina Response:
Thank you for your kind words, hope to see you again soon!

MBY has become a must-stop on my annual cruises for some years now, it has everything I want....great location, simple but nice and clean facilities, and a quiet and beautiful town nearby to walk around and explore. The best part is the friendly and helpful team which makes the yard seem like family. This year I had some minor engine problems and the crew dropped everything to help me out and get me going on the rest of my trip. Great place!

excellent people and launch drivers. awesome town. mooring was in excellent condition. the only negative is the shower. there is only one. it is open air and very rustic, like you would expect in a cabin in the woods. water not very hot. it also had a large assortment of used bar soaps and shampoos left by previous users. so it obviously had not been cleaned by the staff for a some time. pretty gross.
Marina Response:
Thank you for the kind words! I am very sorry about your neighbors. That boat actually just sold and the customers are staying a week and then taking it to it’s new home. We try to limit the use of external generators like that except for emergency use. I really apologize if this affected your stay!

Good moorings, make good sleep. Nice dinghy dock at the boat yard and there is a launch service even though we didn't require it.

Mooring was waiting for us upon our arrival

The launch crew were great and accommodating. WE stay until Sunday, and the harbor was very nice in the evenings, though a bit rolly during the day.

Awesome service. Moorings suitable for any size vessel and courteous staff.

Prompt and courteous launch service. Well spaced moorings allow for much more privacy than in most of the neighbouring marinas. Very picturesque.
Marina Response:
Thank you for your nice review! hope to see you back here soon!

They reserved me a mooring they did nt have available. When I got there all the moorings were occupied. They directed me to a second area. All moorings there were taken. The launch came out and took me to a third area. All those were taken. They finally put me on a non transient visitor mooring. Management is unaware of the status of their own facilities.
Marina Response:
We are so sorry you did not have a positive experience with us. As I recall it was pea soup fog and could not see which transient moorings were open. This time of year we are launching boats like crazy, and use the guest moorings as temps for boats that are leaving, and also use our seasonal rental moorings that are not yet used as guest moorings, in the fog that was the easiest option. I wish you could have called and let us know how you felt and we would have sent a refund, if you would like to come back and visit again, we will hold a mooring at no charge! Ned

Mattapoisett is a lovely harbor, wide open to Buzzards Bay. We were fortunate to have calm conditions for the weekend, this is not always so here. There is a launch service, a dinghy dock, and a pub with decent food.

The boatyard directed us to the visitors moorings. The harbor is very nice, protected and very few fishermen to roll past you early in the morning. Had a great sleep. Visitors are directed to register with the Harbourmaster. Ince that is done, your dinghy is permitted to tie up at the public wharf free for 3 days. The downside to Mattapoiset is the lack of amenities. There is no grocery store nearby, no laundry service, both of which we needed. The people at the Harbourmaster office where very friendly. It is a nice place to unwind.
