From the Bay State to San Diego Bay, marina teams work year-round to provide boaters with hassle-free experiences. The ones that go above and beyond often prompt a boater to shout their praise from the rooftops – namely, in this case, from Marinas.com.

Rather than run a year-end vote, Marinas.com recognized that boaters have been voting all year long as they evaluate their travels. From our CEO Mike Melillo:

“This revision in Boaters’ Choice marina selection more closely aligns with the mission of Marinas.com to empower every boater an equal voice, to provide boaters worldwide quality marine information, and to reward marinas that work to consistently provide excellent service to boaters. Boaters contribute reviews throughout their cruising season, so the associated ratings reflect their experiences without having to jog their memories in an end-of-year contest.”

2017 Boaters' Choice Requirements

As mentioned in Monday's post, any marina with at least three reviews averaging a rating of four or more stars by midnight on December 4, 2017 made the grade. To avoid the ballot stuffing that marinas and boaters expressed that they'd witnessed in years past, we opted to keep the guidelines under wraps this year knowing that for 2018, marinas and boaters alike will be well aware that reviews count doubly, both on the marina's profile as well as toward this valuable distinction.

Thank you again to all of our boaters who took the time to share their feedback and praise on Marinas.com!
